Why We Travel - Reece

"We travel, then, in search of both self and anonymity... Abroad, we are wonderfully free of caste and job and standing."  I particularly liked these reasons,  because when you're able to meet people and experience things without anyone knowing your full background, you can enjoy them more.  You're able to be yourself, which allows for a much less stressful environment.

  1. Reece, I agree. Iyer describes, in those words, that our traveling is a way to find ourselves and be the person we want to be. We are not particularly confined or occupied by either our job, social life, or economic position which allows us to open up to an array of cultural diversities. No longer influenced by the things that cloud our minds at home, we can find out our passions and our desires.

  2. I agree with this as well. A lot of the time when we travel we find a new part of ourselves through meeting other people and experiencing things we normally wouldn't in everyday life.

  3. I agree. We can learn so much about ourselves by learning about other people.
